K.I.S.S is the latest creation by Lowell and Steven Nelson.
It is a Heavyweight (Gigabot) which means it weighs about 200 lbs.
It is designed to compete in Battlebots and hopefully do some damage.
How this creation got started.
Well one day my Boss Tory Smith asked me if I wanted to clear this old riding lawn tractor out of his backyard. I said OK.
Originally I had no intention of building another robot since we had already built S.L.A.M and I'm not a rich person by  any stretch of the imagination.
But after having the tractor sitting for yet another season buried in the snow.We decided to see what we could do with it.

One of the problem we knew we had. Was the parts were very heavy. That meant that we would have to strip the tractor down to just its basic components. Which is the first thing we did. So all we ended up with was...
A 8 Horsepower Briggs and Stratton gas Engine with electric start
A Foote 3 speed manual transmission with reverse.
A rear axle with a differential.
A front axle with steering linkage.
Just those parts alone weighed about 110 lbs (yikes).
We then needed to add a electric motor driving a speed reducer to control the steering. Also a Vantec speed controller which slows the motor down.
We also used a electric trunk latch actuator for a Cadilac Fleetwood which I converted to act as a linear actuator to shift the manual transmission.
Pretty simple so far. (Right Kids).
Oh by the way the weapon is just a simple wedge shaped box.
Performance
Well we still haven't built the box yet but the drive section works well.
The Robot will move at about 15 mph and turns in less than 2 body lengths.
Which aint too bad for a junkyard Dog.
